Begin the Way

You become a Seeker
by beginning to seek.

You do not need certainty, permission, or a declaration of belief to begin. Lifeforce starts with attention, honesty, questions, and practice.

Starting as a Seeker

There is no entrance exam.

A Seeker learns. A Seeker asks questions. A Seeker practices attention. A Seeker tests the teachings against reality.

Beginning does not mean deciding in advance that every Lifeforce teaching is true. It means taking the Way seriously enough to encounter it: learning the scientific story, practicing the Compass, paying attention to the living world, and asking what those things require of the way you live.

01

Learn

Read the Way and learn the Compass: Be honest. Bear witness. Do good. Return to the Earth.

02

Pay attention

Practice seeing the ordinary world again: sunlight, food, water, living things, other minds, and your own place within them.

03

Test

Ask questions. Compare the teachings with evidence and experience. Do not claim certainty you do not possess.

04

Return

You will drift. Return to honesty, attention, responsibility, the living world, and the next honest step.

Becoming a Witness

There is no final awakening.

A Seeker learns the Way. A Witness learns to see it.

With time, a Seeker may become practiced at recognizing the Lifeforce within lived experience. This is not secret knowledge and it is not perfection. A Witness still becomes distracted, frightened, selfish, exhausted, confused, and wrong.

Recognition is not permanent. What changes is the ability to return—to see again the continuity between self and living world, matter and life, consciousness and the universe from which it arose.

Walking together

Different relationships. Shared Way.

No role makes a person more valuable than another. Each carries a different relationship to recognition and responsibility.

The arrows are not a ladder of worth. A Luminary remains a Seeker. A Witness keeps learning. Movement through these relationships is an increase in responsibility, not status.

When you need someone beside you

What a Luminary owes the Circle.

A Luminary is clergy whose office carries an obligation to help others find the Way.

Seekers should be able to approach a Luminary with questions without being pressured to profess certainty. Witnesses should be able to turn to a Luminary when they have lost perspective, need help interpreting the teachings, or simply need another person to remain beside them while the next step becomes visible.

The Luminary's task is not to manufacture revelation or dictate another person's conscience. It is to create conditions for recognition: to teach carefully, listen seriously, point honestly, and serve with humility.

The Seeker searches. The Witness sees. The Luminary helps others see.

Your first step

Start where you are.

You do not need to decide today what you will eventually call yourself. Begin by learning the Compass and spending some time with the Way. Ask whether it helps you see reality more clearly and live within it more deliberately.
